Acute Angles

Our clients were excited about their new, spacious house, but dreamed of an open layout perfect for gathering and entertaining. We worked with them to reimagine and expand key spaces while infusing their home with personality. Bold, deliberate design choices emerged through wood accents, saturated colors and geometric motifs. The kitchen, awkwardly long and divided into separate cooking and breakfast areas, was transformed with deep green tones and brass hardware. A widened opening between the kitchen and dining room provides more light from the sliding glass doors. In addition, new appliances, lighting and plumbing modernizes the space.

A coat closet in the entryway was removed in favor of an open and modernized stair with a cable railing system, now a focal point of the house. In the living room, a wrapped wood-paneled fireplace adds a warm, organic element that still works with the lighter wood found in other spaces.

On the second floor, we revamped the guest bath with new finishes and fixtures, expanded the hall closet to fit a side-by-side washer and dryer, with added counter space. For the primary bath, a relocated entry door reprogrammed the small primary bath, which also was upgraded with a new tiled shower (complete with a thermostatic control panel) and custom stained ash floating vanity, creating a moody, modern escape.
