Team Helios: Meet IFDA 2026 Designer to Watch Ariel Roth

Meet Ariel Roth: the IFDA NE 2026 Designer to Watch. This well-deserved recognition reflects her creative talents, professional drive, and growing portfolio of fabulous projects for Helios Design Group.

“I’m very grateful to be honored in this way. My career has been shaped by so many talented people who have encouraged me, challenged me, and shared in the joy of doing work I truly love,” Roth said.

FROM BAC GRADUATE TO INTERIOR DESIGN DIRECTOR FOR HELIOS

Ariel entered the design industry in 2009 when she enrolled in Boston Architectural College's interior architecture program. While studying, she worked at fabric showrooms in the Boston Design Center before interning for various residential design firms around Boston. Roth joined Helios Design Group shortly after graduating in 2016, then went to work briefly for another firm in 2018. She returned to Helios in 2019, and with her vision, expertise, and leadership, Roth became an integral part of the firm's design practice, culminating in her appointment as Director of Interior Design.

Roth has been living in Jamaica Plain since 2012, with a 4-year stint in Denver before returning in 2025. She lives with her art therapist husband, their senior Chihuahua mix, Rooney, and a gremlin masquerading as a cat, Caspian. When she isn't encouraging clients to pick pink wallpaper, she enjoys discovering new pastries, judging matcha lattes, and making bad wagers on Final Jeopardy from the safety of her living room.

Judged by a panel of industry experts and IFDA NE board members, recipients are recognized at the annual IFDA NE Gala. Held at the Boston Park Plaza, more than 300 members and guests attended the event, dressed in pink and green to honor this year’s theme of ‘Defying Gravity’ - inspired by "Wicked.”

“We could not be prouder of Ariel’s recognition with this award,” said Chris Hosford, AIA, HDG Founder and Studio Director. “As Ariel’s portfolio of award-winning interior design projects continues to grow, so too does her influence within the New England design community. We see her emerging as a thoughtful leader whose work and voice will continue to shape the region’s design landscape.”
